Greek Island Hopping
The first stop in Greece was Athens. After a day of sightseeing, which honestly disappointed me, I embarked on a ferry to Mykonos. The ferry was the best way to get there and only costed 34 euros! The ride lasts for about 6 hours and it’s pretty smooth.
When we got off the ferry, we saw a guy holding up a sign with our hostel’s name on it. We were confused because we didn’t ask to be picked up, but we realized it wasn’t only us going there. Soon the van was packed with youngsters, music playing loud and we were making our way through the narrow-and scary-streets of Mykonos to Paraga beach where the hostel was located. At this point I got super pumped and realized what I had heard about Mykonos was true, it is indeed party central.
The hostel had music blasting 24/7, a bar by the pool and the beach right there. After 10 days of moving around Turkey, this was all I needed. Even though there were club promoters constantly giving us flyers for what was going on that night, I did not go to a club in Mykonos, just because I was in a very chill mood. However by night the hostel was fun and a drink with my girls was just as fun for me.
Paraga beach is lovely, the water is crystal clear and with the hot sun above us , the cool water was just perfect. In just a few hours my tan as on point. I also loved how there were no restrictions or judgments in the island. I saw plenty of people sun bathing naked, including men, and gay couples being open about their love.
The island is pretty small, but it’s beautiful and if you are rolling in the money you will love to shop and find all the high-end brand stores.
Mykonos is perfect if you want to have a trip with your friends, let lose and don’t worry about anything else other than having fun, and what club to choose for the night.
